How to Get The Most Out Of Facebook With Nimble
In April 2015, Facebook shut down their API to all third party applications, including Nimble. This is an overview of how this will affect your use of Nimble, and how you will continue to have added value by using Nimble as your primary relationship manager.
While this API policy change will limit Nimble from displaying Facebook contact details within Nimble, we will continue to be able to add unique value to your Facebook relationship workflow including auto mapping Facebook profiles and displaying relevant work history and profile information within Nimble.
We know that we will continue to be an amazing source of insights and intelligence for your contacts, and we have listed ways to gain the most from Nimble below.
What does this mean for Nimble users?
You will not be able to bulk import your Facebook contacts into Nimble.
Notifications and messages will not sync from your personal Facebook account to Nimble.
However, you may still see any posts made directly to your business Facebook Page in the Signals tab, by selecting either “Signals” or “All Streams” on the lefthand side. Posts made today will also be visible on the Today page.
Please note, posts made directly to the page do not include reviews or check-ins.
To connect your Facebook Page to Nimble, you must first connect your personal Facebook.
To start, go to your Settings >> Networks & Imports and select "Social Networks" then "Facebook" to allow Nimble permission to access.
Then, click "Facebook Pages". You will then be able to add any Facebook Page that you have administrative permissions for.
Once your Facebook account is connected, Nimble will automatically map Facebook profiles to your contact’s record.
These profile cards will display in your contact’s Social tab >> Social Profiles of their contact record.
How can I bring my Facebook contacts over to Nimble?
Our Nimble Prospector browser extension allows you to bring Nimble with you wherever you work, Facebook included! Use it to import your contacts from Facebook to Nimble.
You may also use the browser extension to update any of your contacts or manage your relationships without having to be in our main interface.
The Nimble Prospector browser extension is free and available for Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
