Nimble now enables you to create a two-way sync between your Nimble account and Microsoft 365.

To get started with setting up your Microsoft 365 account with Nimble, start here:

Things to Note:

  • You will need to have a Microsoft 365 subscription to be able to sync your contacts from Outlook to Nimble.

  • You can select to sync contacts between Nimble and Microsoft 365 on a Daily, Weekly, or Biweekly basis when you are actively signed into Nimble. You can also manually force a sync when needed

  • Contacts can be deleted from Nimble or Outlook. However, you will need to remove them permanently from Nimble, following the steps in this article

Chapters:

How to get started

To get started, head to your Settings >> Networks & Imports. Locate the Microsoft 365 connector and click "Connect Microsoft 365".

Your Microsoft 365 emails and calendars may already be connected.

If this is the case, just locate your connected account and click "Connect Contacts". Nimble will then sign you into the account.

From here, you'll be able to set up your group preferences.

When setting up the contact sync, you'll be able to do the following:

  • Choose whether the integration will be a two-way sync, a sync from Nimble to Outlook or Outlook to Nimble

  • Select an Outlook contact group to sync to Nimble

  • Choose whether all contacts should sync to Nimble or a specific tagged group of your choice

  • Determine the tag that will be applied to incoming Outlook contacts

  • Select how to merge contacts in case of duplicates

  • Select Sync Frequency which can be Daily, BiWeekly, or Weekly

  • Choose a default contact owner and privacy

After you've set up the contact sync, you'll then be prompted to connect your Calendar if this is your first time performing the integration.

If you'd like to sync another contact group, just revisit the integration in Networks & Imports and choose "Add Sync Group".

Nimble will keep track of sync history which will display how many contacts were updated that week, how many synced to Outlook or Nimble, and how many problems may have occurred.

Once the sync is complete, you will see these contacts in your Contacts tab. They will display in Recently Added and/or in the tag you created during the setup process.

Contact Fields that will Sync

The following fields will sync from Outlook to Nimble and vice versa:

First Name

Last Name

Company Name

Notes (will sync to Description)

Email

Birthday

Work Phone

Mobile Phone

Employment

Home Address

Work Address

Other Address

Website

Custom fields will not sync at this time.

Forcing Contact Sync

As new contacts will sync on a daily, biweekly, or weekly basis, you can force sync for faster results. This will sync over new contacts as well as any modifications to existing contacts.

To do this, just click the 3 dots on the connected account, then choose "Sync Now".

Reviewing Deleted Contacts

When a contact is deleted in Outlook, the change does not take effect in Nimble immediately. Instead, you will need to visit Settings Networks & Imports to review the deleted contacts.

Click the ## of deleted contacts then choose from the list. When you are ready, click "Remove Selected" or remove each contact individually.

If you decide to keep contacts in Nimble, then you may continue to see the ## of deleted contacts on your connected account. You will need to add these contacts back to your Outlook to remove this notification.
