From cold email campaigns to lead generation to customer support, email is a vital tool for communicating with prospects, clients, and customers. Email drafts are the foundation of such communication, allowing you to save your message progress and continue working on it later.
Email drafting also allows you to prepare your message ahead of time, freeing yourself up to focus on other tasks while still ensuring that important emails are sent out when they need to be.
As an added convenience, the Draft feature is available across our entire platform - from the Message tab in the app on your phone, to the Prospector app, and also on your Nimble contact or deal record. Whether you're on the go or working from your desktop, you can draft emails and send when you are ready.
How to create an email draft
Navigate to the Message tab in Nimble and click on "New Message" or choose one from your Inbox. Draft your message as you normally would. At the top, you'll see that the draft is automatically saved.
If after reviewing your draft email, you decide you would rather not keep it, there is an easy way to delete it. Simply click on the three dots in the bottom right-hand corner, then select "Delete Draft" from the dropdown menu.
β
This will remove the draft from your list of emails, freeing up space in your inbox and preventing you from accidentally sending an unprepared or outdated message.
Review your email drafts
When you create a draft email, it will automatically be saved in your Drafts folder within the Message tab. To access your drafts, simply click on the Drafts tab on the left-hand side of the page. Here, you will find all of your draft emails organized by date, making it easy to find the specific message you're looking for.
To begin working on a draft, simply click on it and start typing, your previous work will be saved and ready for you to pick up where you left off.
If, after creating a draft email, you realize that you would rather not keep it, you can easily delete it by hovering your mouse over the draft you wish to delete, and a small trashcan icon will appear.
Click on the trashcan icon to confirm that you want to delete the draft.
Send Later for Group Messaging
While the Draft feature is currently available on single messages only, we are actively working on making this functionality available for group messages as well.
For now, if you decide to start a draft in a group message, it will automatically be saved in your Drafts folder. However, it's worth noting that if you then click on the draft to continue working on it, it will open the message as a single message and not as a group message.
Please stay tuned as this feature is just around the corner!
