Learn how Nimble MCP lets you access CRM information, review relationship history, and update Nimble from your AI assistant

Written by Nimble Customer Care

Nimble MCP brings a new way to work with Nimble - right from your AI conversations. Connect your Nimble account to Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI assistants that support MCP and start working with your Nimble information without constantly switching between tabs.

Ask your AI assistant to catch you up on a relationship before a meeting, find contacts or deals, update records, capture follow-ups, or search the Nimble Help Center.

This makes it easier to find the context you need, stay on top of relationships, and take action as you work. Read on to discover what you can do with Nimble MCP and how it works.

What is Nimble MCP?

Nimble MCP connects your Nimble account with supported AI assistants, giving you a new way to work with the relationships and information you already have in Nimble. From your AI conversations, you can look up information, review relationship context, and take supported actions in Nimble using natural-language prompts.

Nimble MCP is built on Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables AI assistants to work with external tools and data sources. Because MCP is an open standard, Nimble MCP isn’t tied to a single AI provider - you can use it with Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants that support MCP.

Here are some of the ways you can use Nimble MCP in your everyday workflow:

  • Summarize your relationship history with a contact before a meeting

  • Find contacts based on information stored in Nimble

  • Identify contacts you haven't communicated with recently

  • Search for deals by stage, owner, or amount

  • Create and update contact records

  • Add notes, log calls, and create follow-up tasks

  • Organize contacts using tags, custom fields, and segments

  • Search the Nimble Help Center for information about Nimble features

    Working with Nimble MCP

Once Nimble MCP is connected, simply tell your AI assistant what you’d like to do in Nimble. Depending on your request, it can retrieve and review information or perform supported actions on your behalf.

Not sure where to start? Here are a few ways you can put Nimble MCP to work:

  • Review your relationship history

Need a quick refresher before your next conversation? Ask your AI assistant about a contact, and Nimble MCP can pull together relevant relationship history from emails, calls, meetings, notes, and tasks — so you don’t have to review each interaction one by one.

For example, ask: “Summarize where we stand with Sarah at Meridian before my 2 PM meeting.”

Your assistant can bring together recent exchanges, previous commitments, open items, and upcoming activities to help you quickly get up to speed.

  • Find contacts and deals

Looking for a specific group of contacts? Ask your AI assistant to find them based on information already stored in Nimble, such as companies, tags, custom fields, segments, or previous interactions.

For example: “Which clients haven’t I spoken to in sixty days, and what did we last discuss?”

Nimble MCP can identify the contacts that match your request and bring in relevant relationship history to help you pick up where you left off. The same works for deals.

Ask: “Which deals are closing this month, and who owns them?”

Nimble MCP can find deals based on details such as stage, owner, or amount, helping you quickly see what needs your attention.

  • Research and organize contacts

Nimble MCP can also help you go from researching new contacts to organizing them in Nimble — all within the same request. You can ask your AI assistant to find relevant people, create or update their records, and organize the information you’ve gathered.

For example: “Find current editors covering small business software, add them to Nimble with their outlet and beat, and tag them Q4 Outreach.”

With a single request, you can add information to contact fields, apply tags, and organize contacts into segments without handling each step separately.

***Note: When creating contacts, Nimble checks for existing records first and displays potential matches before a new record is added.

  • Record activities and follow-ups

After a conversation, you can ask your AI assistant to capture what happened and add the next steps to Nimble. This can include logging an activity, adding a note, or creating a follow-up task.

For example: “Log that call, add a note about the pricing question, and remind me to send the proposal Thursday.”

With one request, you can keep the conversation and next steps recorded in Nimble, making it easier to stay on top of your follow-ups. Before the assistant makes any changes to your Nimble data, you’ll be asked to confirm the action.

  • Find answers in the Nimble Help Center

Nimble MCP gives your AI assistant access to information from the Nimble Help Center, so you can find answers about Nimble features and workflows directly from your conversation. Just ask your AI assistant a question, such as:

“How do I set up a lead pipeline in Nimble?”

Your assistant can find relevant Help Center information and bring the answer back to your conversation.

How Nimble MCP Works with Your Data

Nimble MCP respects the permissions already set in your Nimble account. Your connected AI assistant can only access information that you have permission to view in Nimble.

To help keep you in control when working with your Nimble data:

  • Before creating a contact, Nimble checks for existing records and displays potential matches.

  • Adding information to a field does not automatically remove or replace existing information.

  • Deleted contacts are moved to the trash, where they can be recovered.

  • Before making changes to your Nimble data, the assistant asks you to confirm the action.

Nimble MCP access and availability

Nimble MCP is included with all Nimble plans at no additional cost.

Note: To connect Nimble to an AI assistant, you may need a paid subscription with the AI provider. Availability of custom MCP connections depends on the AI assistant and plan you use.
